A raised seat so a small dog can actually see out of the window instead of the back of your headrest. It also gives them one defined place to be, rather than wandering the length of the bench and ending up in the footwell every time you brake.

The height is the point. A dog lying flat on a seat feels the car moving but sees nothing moving, and that mismatch is what makes a lot of small dogs queasy. Lifting them to window level lets the eyes and the inner ear agree.

The weight limit is the number that decides it, and it isn't a soft guideline — the base and straps are built around it.

Over 25 lb	Don't. Use a back seat hammock instead — it's built for the whole bench.

With interior dimensions of 23 × 22 × 13 in, this suits most dogs up to 25 lb comfortably — but a longer-bodied breed near that weight limit (a dachshund or corgi, for example) may find the length tighter than a compact breed at the same weight. Measure your dog nose-to-tail if their build runs long.

Two things worth saying plainly

This is not a crash-tested restraint. It's for normal driving — keeping a small dog raised, contained and off your upholstery. If you want tested collision protection, buy a crash-tested travel crate from someone who can show you the certification. We can't, so we don't claim it.

Clip the internal tether to a harness, never a collar. In a sudden stop a collar puts the entire force through the neck. If your dog doesn't have one, our tactical harness has a top handle that makes lifting them in and out easier too.
