Attach it to a harness. Never a collar.

The manufacturer says this and so do we. In a sudden stop a collar puts the entire force through your dog's neck; a body harness spreads it across the chest. If your dog doesn't have one, our tactical harness works with this tether.

What it isn't

This is not crash protection. It stops your dog climbing into the front, blocking your mirrors, or bolting the moment a door opens — real risks, and the ones you're far more likely to meet. It does nothing meaningful in a collision.

Worth knowing: independent crash testing has found that extension tethers can reduce the performance of a crash-tested harness rather than improve it. If collision protection is your priority, buy a tested harness and use it as its manufacturer intends, without an extension.
