A back-seat cover that turns the rear footwell into a flat, solid platform, so your dog gets a level surface to lie on instead of a sagging hammock. The extender panel adds about 40% more usable space, giving you 54 × 24 in of flat area — enough for a large dog to actually stretch out on a long drive.
What makes it different
Most hammock-style covers are fabric only: the dog stands in a dip, slides on corners, and the middle sags under weight. This one has a removable poplar plywood board sewn into a zip pocket underneath, rated to 400 lb, so the surface stays flat and stable. The board is treated to resist mold — worth caring about in a car, where wet paws and humidity are the norm.

Fit
Sized for sedans, family cars, mid-size SUVs, and trucks. Before ordering, measure the width of your back seat and the gap between the seat and the back of the front seats — the 54 in width is the limiting dimension in narrower cars. Compact cars and two-door coupes are likely too tight.
Good to know
- Side flaps and a front panel cover the door cards and footwell, so muddy paws and shedding stay off the upholstery.
- Storage pockets on the seat-back side hold leads, treats, water bottles, and waste bags.
- Folds into the included carrying bag when you need the back seat for people.
- The 8.6 lb weight is mostly the board — it's a solid piece of kit, not something you'll want to put in and take out daily. Most owners leave it fitted.
What it isn't
Not a crash-tested restraint. The included harness is a tether point for normal driving, not a certified safety device — if crash protection is your priority, a crash-tested crate or a certified harness is the right purchase. This is a cover that protects your seats and gives your dog a stable, comfortable place to travel.
